Services and Ceremonies of Sosyuete Du Marche, Inc.
Services offered during the year - the following services may be performed during any fet the sosyete
is holding. The Lwa are the ones who do the actual work.
Baptism - Consecration and baptism ceremonial
objects. This extends to the consecration of personal shrines and badjis. $100.00
Mange Lwa - Feeding the Lwa general sacrifices. Price is
dependant on the nature of the offering. Offering is included in the mange.
Marre pakets - Tying Kongo Pakets for love, wealth, protection. Individual pakets may also be created for personal use.
Bains ritual - baths given for purification, cleansing, clearing, wealth, health or love.
Oracles - Divination performed for a client via cards, candle or water gazing. The Lwa themselves may even do the reading.
Lampes and Candles - making specialty lamps or candles for
the client to help with a specific problem such as work, love, or health.
Garde - A spiritual protection given on the point of a specific Lwa, for a person. All gardes are given by the Lwa who come forward through divination and ritual, to confer Their protection.
Specialized Services -" performed over a weekend or a series of days.
Maraj Mystique - performance of the marriage ceremony of a person to a
Lwa for protection. When a Lwa has decreed you should be married to them, the Maraj is work performed to seal the union of Flesh and Spirit. Like any marriage, there are several parts to consider.
The Contract of Union, which covers your obligations to the spirit in the marriage. The Ceremony of Union whereby you make your promises to Spirit and the Reception of the Family - a joyous uplifting
party where the Escorts of both Spirit and human are fetted and enlivened. Fee for service and feast: $1250.00
Lave Semp
- This involves doing a reading, to find the spirit who will support the work. After identify this spirit, we mix a wash of herbs, perfumes and waters designed to bring that spirit's energy into your life. We do this work during a regular service, washing your head before the altar. We then wrap your head up and you leave the material on your head for 24 hours. At home, you may unwrap and wash your hair the next day. You receive instructions on serving this spirit, a bottle of the mixture which is dressed as a pwen for your personal altar, and the service. The Fee for a Head Washing is $200.00.
Lave Tet
- The three day ritual baptism, with sacrifices, that allows the Lwa better access to the servitor. A full body immersion of Vodou, that will cleanse you of all the issues you have and can help re-align your own personal power of success and health. Our lave tets are held here at the hounfort. They involve a full day of preparation, meals and mediation. The entire sosyete comes together, to sing, drum and dance, so that the herbs are properly blessed and consecrated. You are bathed head to toe (you wear old clothing), in service. We wrap you up in clean white clothes and bed you down before the altar, with a Mange Tet on your head, to bring the Lwa to you in dreams. The next morning, we wash your head again, to facilitate a clean start and send you off after a short Action de Gras. The fee for the service meals and overnight is $500.00.
For serious, troubling issues of health, there is a variety of works that
can be performed, but they are a full day and evening of programs. They are held beginning on a Thursday or Friday night and end on Sunday afternoon. They include meals, mediations, guided
pathworkings, cleansings, bathes and private as well as public rituals.
Consecration of the Namn (soul)
- We do a reading, to ask who will make the alignment a positive force for the patient. Upon identifying the Lwa who will work with us, we invoke the Lwa to come down and speak to the patient. From this conversation, we determine the specific herbs, oils and medicines that will be used in the treatment phase. Application is both topical and oral. The material moves into the Limbic System and changes the blood of the patient. The materials help to cleansing, clarify and purifying the blood, bringing the person's body back into healthy alignment. An overnight stay is required. Fee is inclusive of meals, materials, offerings and the evening ritual: $1,200.00
Purification of Flesh and Blood
- Utilizing essential oils as topical, inhalation and submersion therapies, you are treated four times over the course of two days with special combinations of oils directed toward particular ailment or issue. The work of the Mambo is to invoke the specific Lwa of the Oils, to enter the person's body and perform cleansing, healing modalities, that sanctify and purify the patient. All materials are consecrated during ritual, on the point of a specific Lwa who will step forward, to be the Patron of the Rite. All oils are purchased ahead of time and belong to the patient upon completion of the therapy. Meals, accommodations and pure therapeutic grade essential oils are included in the Fee: $2,500.00.
Sevis Tet
- this is initiation into our house, and is performed when someone is ill, has lingering issues of health or needs to be placed under the guidance and tutelage of both the Mambo and the Lwa. It is four nights and five days of ritual, cleansing, bathes and services, culminating in the grade of Hounsi Bossale of Sosyete du Marche. It is performed here at the houmfor in Pennsylvania. It confers the protection the House Patron in all areas of the hounsi's life, membership within our sosyete for life, and admission to the private work of the Sosyete. A ritual of this kind is often seen as the best method of controlling issues that need constant vigilance and monitoring. By becoming a member, and participating regularly in house services, you will gain wisdom, knowledge, control and finally the ashe of the Lwa in all areas of your life. All inclusive fee: $1,600.00.
Kanzo
- is the trial of fire and is only offered when there is no other recourse beyond the above services. Kanzo is eight days and nights of ritual. It confers the title of Hounsi Kanzo to the participants, and carries all of the ashe of the above ceremonies, but on a much deeper level. Kanzo is offered in Haiti. If necessary, further details may be discussed privately with you. Currently, the fee for a Kanzo is $5-8,000 depending on the grade of the initiation.
