The Coins of Legba
I have a passion for Papa Legba. He is the Patron of our Sosyete, and everything we do, we do through his blessings. All praise to his name. This necklace I created in his honor.

Legba's necklace features a triple strand of Vintage White Heart beads from Africa, sterling silver spacers from Bali, Afghanistan silver charm spacers and Czech glass from
Yugoslavia. The charms are all indicative of Legba and his magic - keys (he is often syncretized with St. Peter, who is Guardian of the gates of heaven), crutches ( he is also
syncretized with St. Lazarus, the beggar with crutches) and Mercury head dimes. Mercury is the Roman messenger god who moves between worlds, not unlike Legba himself.
A final feature of the necklace is the stringing, which is done according to Sacred Geometry and Legba's numbers. There are multiples of three (three is Legba's favorite
number.) There are three strands of white hearts beads. Each strand is divided into multiples of threes - either 27
(3 x9) between spacers or 12 or 9 or 3 runs of beads. There are three groups of three dimes, three groups of keys, and nine large Czech beads, separating the necklace into three segments.
I have blessed this necklace in the waters of St. John's Bayou in New Orleans and at Saut D'eaux in Haiti.
