Vodou Dolls: Working with the Spirits for wealth, health and prosperity

Vodou dolls are a recent addition to the magical repertoire of Vodou. Borrowed from the Europeans, the mambos and houngans of Haiti saw the value of having a poppet to work with. Everywhere in Haiti, one finds small black, red or white dolls tied to trees, on gates, in bushes. Sometimes, they are tied in place with rope, sometimes ribbons. They hold items – socks, bottles, scraps of paper. They are “astral zombies”, doing work for the mambo or houngan. They are created on the pwen of the individual spirits, stuffed with herbs and minerals to facilitate the work at hand, and baptized, so they can move out into the world of men, without detection. We offer two kinds of dolls - The Lwa doll is a fixed poppet in the appropriate colors of the Lwa, with herbs to draw Their ashe. The Working Dolls are mare pwen Lwa so they draw down a very specific kind of energy. Choose the kind that best suits your purpose, and find a truly friendly spirit to work with you! Both kinds are made from wool felt, stuff with herbs we grow here, and are approximately 10” tall.
